Individual Therapy Teens & Adolescents

Anxiety, mood changes, emotional outbursts, shutdown, avoidance, or feeling misunderstood are often signs of underlying stress or unresolved experiences rather than defiance.

Teens and adolescents often experience big emotions, shifting identities, and intense pressure, even when they have difficulty putting it into words. I use an integrative approach that blends psychodynamic exploration, cognitive and behavioral strategies, and trauma informed care to meet each young person’s developmental needs. Therapy focuses on building emotional awareness, coping skills, and a stronger sense of self, while also exploring how past experiences may be influencing present challenges. When appropriate, I collaborate with caregivers while respecting the teen’s need for autonomy and trust.

“Big feelings are not a problem to fix. They are a message asking to be understood.”

Who This Is For

This service is designed for teens and adolescents who feel overwhelmed by emotions, pressure, or expectations and may struggle to express what they are experiencing. It can help young people navigate transitions, social stress, self-esteem concerns, or past experiences that continue to affect them. This therapy is best for teens & adolescents who are motivated to work on understanding themselves and building coping skills.

What to Expect
